Which is the best concentration to select in MBA considering bright future prospect and carrier. Assuming applicant already have BBA in Computer Information Systems.

Some concentration to choose from are below. Also advice if there is something new.

    1 Applied Computer Science
    2 Business Quantitative Methods
    3 International Business
4 Management of Engineering and Technology
    5 Marketing

Well, since BBA in Computer Information Systems. It seems that you are aiming for Technology industries. Therefore, Management of Engineering & Technology is the best concernstration in this case. I don't really like the idea of Northcentral University has MBA in Applied Computer Science and Computer & Security Informations. Aren't those for Master of Science degree?

Be honest, for my opinion choice (4) is the best for this scenario.

    Good luck.

The more important question is what you would like to do with your degree.

If you want to purse career in marketing, marketing is the obvious choice. The IT industry also needs good marketing people.

Applied Computer Science doesn't look attractive at all. It's strange to have computer programming in an MBA degree. I wish it could be software engineering, which it has a lot more human factors to management.

I wanna use it to climb Management position. May be in Technology / IT feild or may be in different feild like FMCG,Service Industry ,Manufacturing Industry etc.
Choosing feild depends on how good are prospects / future; both in terms of $$ and growth.

As tcmak pointed out, it depends on what you want to do with the degree. I chose marketing for my concentration because my career is in marketing.

If you are planning a career change, be careful with your expectations. If you have no experience in marketing (for example), it will be very hard to get someone to hire you into an executive level marketing position based on the degree alone.

MBAs are nice but you generally need to have experience in your chosen field to land a great job. Decide what you want to do with your career first. Then the answer to your original post will come naturally.

    Hi,

Business Quantitative Methods is a good option if you want to stay in programming.
There are many good jobs for quantitative programmers for business application.
Applied Computer Science at NCU is really Mickey Mouse and is meant for non computer science graduates so you will be waisting your time there.
Management of Engineering is a good option for project management jobs.

It really depends on what your goals are - the concentration should support that.

For example: my eventual goal is an MBA to qualigy me to teach in the business school - so my concentration will focus on whatever the business dept's "focus" is.

any one will have good prospects, $$, and growth, if you do well in that field.

Both International Business and Marketing will enable you climbing up to management position. This is not because you can change career to Marketing or whatever, but giving you an idea how do people in other functional departments work.
