I want to firstly thank everyone here for their postings, it really inspired me to move forward with my education.

Now I am at a place where I have big chance for a promotion within my company if I can complete a 4 year degree, I have 6 months to finish a degree, and if I can start a masters at the end of this all the better.

    Humanities(two subjects) 12 Needed
Clep Exam: Humanities, worth 6 creds. (will take next month)
Clep Exam: Analyzing Literature, passed already 6 creds.

    Social Sciences 12 Needed
Clep Exam: Social Sciences worth 6 creds. (will take next month)
Admin. Justice, passed two years ago, got 6 creds.

Nat. Sci. and Math 12 Needed
Math 3, will take sometime later
Clep Exam: Information Systems, passed already, got 3 creds
Clep Exam: Natural Sciences, worth 6 creds. (will take in a couple months)

    Gen Ed. Electives 18 Needed
FEMA Courses, I have 12 creds. worth of FEMA courses already
Dantes Exam: Heres to your Health, worth 3 creds. (will take next)
Dantes Exam: Intro to World Religions, worth 3 creds (will take soon)

    Free Electives 27 Needed
Admin. Justice, passed last year, got 27 creds.

    Area Concentration 33 Needed
    ???? Maybe GRE?

Does this degree path make any sense? I appreciate your help!

passinca, congratulations on your decision to earn an undergraduate degree.

Given that you have sufficient credit hours already completed have you considered an associate degree (AA or AS) as a stepping stone towards the BA or BS? In my opinion it would clearly demonstrate to your employer, as well as being self-motivational, that you are serious about the future promotional opportunity. It appears you have enough credit hours to earn an associate degree in criminal justice or related area. You could have the associate degree in hand by the the beginning of summer. Just something to think about.

I don't see where you plan to get this degree - it will make a difference in a few cases here. For example, Admin. of Justice is likely to be called applied professional and not soc sci by Excelsior College...

    Thanks for your comments.

I should have said that a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies was what I was shooting for since, the actual degree earned does not matter as much as having a four year degree.

I based my plan on what I had seen posted by TESC. The issues that I need to work out are things like the amount of higher level courses needed, and what concentration to do.

I have about 60 creds right now so I will apply a majority of them towards an AA/AS, I just need to finish some gen. ed. requirements.

Once again thanks for everyones help, if it wasn;t for this site I never would have thought this degree path was possible.

Since you are already considering TESC and are close to completing an AA/AS and the fact you would like to finish the BA within 6 months (12 months might be more reasonable unless testing out will provide all needed credit hours), enrolling at TESC now will provide you with an evaluation of current credit hours as well as an official listing in book form of courses offered and/or used as the basis for determining which courses are LL and UL. Generally, AA/AS do not have any upper level requirements.

Hi, Wondering if you could move the free elective credits in Adm. Justice into another area and fill the free electives with FEMA EMI? Also look at the US Fire Adminstration Q118 and Q318 to be transcripted through the American Council of Education for optimum use. E-Mail me directly with any questions. Hille TESC grad

    Re: TESC

I could move them into my area of concentration, but I need upper level credits as well. Also I know I can do Fema creds to fill my free electives section but I want to make the most use of credits I have.
