Did CHEA change their name? The Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation seems to be CHEA. I did an internet search on this name and the CHEA site comes up. I then looked at a number of RA schools that list the Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation with a link...the link takes you to CHEA. Pug
I know that CHEA was once COPA and CORPA. My question is whether or not they are now The Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation. That seems to be the case, but there is nothing actually on the CHEA website to indicate a name change. Pug
CORPA = Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation Defunct since 1997. Became CHEA, which still exists as CHEA today.
Interesting. I never put the acronym together! The following is from TESC's website: Thomas Edison State College will not accept in direct transfer credits earned at institutions accredited by other associations, such as the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools, American Association of Bible Colleges, National Association of Trade and Technical Schools, National Home Study Council, and Commission on Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation -approved professional schools, which are outside regionally accredited colleges.
CORPA? Not only do they list CORPA, they list the National Home Study Council and the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATTS) as accrededitation agencies. Of course we should know that... CORPA is now CHEA. National Home Study Council is now DETC. National Association of Trade and Technical Schools is now ACCICS. RXI
OPPS ! I goofed! I meant to say... The National Association of Trade and Technical Schools is now ACCSCT. www.accsct.org RXI
