The British Open University offers Free Online Material

    I just hope that the material they release is self contained. What I mean by that is that the often-hyped OpenCourseWare project from MIT consists mostly of syllabi and scattered lecture notes, but the central core is still an expensive commercial textbook one must go out and buy. I hope that the Open University releases self-contained courses that are useful independent of other resources.
