I would personally avoid South University and any EDMC owned schools.

Might be quicker to just post the ones not listed on www.higheredjobs.com or the Chronicle, which is where I think most adjuncts look.

 

There are potential adjunct applicants who may not be aware of higherded or chronicle. Hopefully, these posts will help DI members and lurkers locate employment opps.

If South University can help pay the bills and a person has been laid off, I'd say go ahead and apply for a position. What have you experienced at South U?

The issue with South / EDMC is excessive overhiring, I have heard it from quite a few adjuncts.

They hire, send you through the training, and then nothing. Time is probably better spent pursuing other schools.

Hi Everyone:

Auditguy is right. I was "hired" by the Art Institute (EDMC) a few monthes ago and went through all the training. I think is was about 4 weeks online with other teachers. Then I heard nothing. I emailed them several time to see what the next step is and heard nothing back. Not a good recruiting tool. Thanks
