I plan to apply for distance learning program of National university, CA or Southern New Hampshire University, NH.
I would like to take Bachelor of Arts, undergraduate program.
Before enrollment , I really would like to get useful information about these universities and if someone are taking these school's online program, or had taken, I really really would like to exchange information.

Fisrt, are these univeristies reliable or not?
Second, how about tuition? avarage or too much high?
    Third, how about reputation?
Forth, the most different thing is while Japanese universities require to dicide major before applying for first, American universities seem like to evaluate our level first. How about major? When do students decide their major?

I don't have any chance to visit these universities to ask question or to meet counselor directly before enrollment because I live in Japan.
I have no idea about American university education system. I read Bear's guide, but it's not enough.
That's why I really need to gain information from all people who have experienced to learn by online program; how it be hard, how it be work, how it be progress, anything!

    Thanks.

I would highly recommend you to send an email to both universities asking them all these question.

You will get the best answer from there.

Yes, I've already done all. I sent email almost five or six times to exchange information with international student office counselor.
However, I can't meet her while I am in Japan. I am very scared to pay expensive tuition to unknown institution, That's why I want more information from people who know it well.

My hope is I just want to get information about real ditance learning program because I haven't gotten any helpful information about this, plus I don't have any friends who can understand this, even no one can understand English around me.

My hope is I want to exchange information what distance learning is.

    Thanks.

I am currently taking my first course at Southern New Hampshire University. After many years, my goal is to finish my degree. I want my BS in Business Studies with a concentration in Small Business Management.
I transferred in 34 credits and am starting with MAT 050 because it has been "a few" years since I have been in school. I am loving it. I currently have a 96 average with 3 weeks to go in the term.
The school has been very easy to deal with and has done everything they've promised. Next term I am taking MAT 120.
I would be happy to answer any question I can for you as a current student of SNHU. I have been "lurking" on this board for about a year and find it an invaluable source of information and inspiration.
