Here is an update to this thread-

MY GOD THIS IS HARD. I took my final and did not do very well. I had gotten some extra credit work to make up the grade so I got an "A".

I am mid way through the second class and I am six chapters behind on reading (about 160 pages) and starting to slip. I am happy this is only three class for the program because I have already considered dropping out. I dropped the NCU class I was going to take starting 10/1 so I can focus on one nightmare at a time.

I am also teaching online for 2 schools now so that just adds to the stress. I just started the second school this week. The stree si high but I can not resist the $$ money$$.

Anyway, this program is a lot more demanding than the NCU program. Anyone looking for an easy program and hoping to just get a good named school on their resume - look elsewhere!

JoannP38, I tip my hat to you :)

    Randell,

I was actually looking at this particular program to get a well known school on my Resume. Like you I am currently attending NCU and taking two classes which isn't horrible. When I graduate sometime early next year I am still debating on wether to attend U of F and getting the grad certificate in Healthcare Risk Management. Given the fact that at that time I won't be teaching and will not be working on my Ph.D., I think I may chance it and start the program. What are your thoughts?

It is a GREAT program and well worth the work. I am just trying to do too much. Be prepared to work hard. It is a lot of reading, a term paper (10 pages), discussion threads, and a final. If/when you get serious let me know.

Also, you can take more than one class per semester and finish it in two semesters.

And if anyone here has any questions for someone who has been doing healthcare risk management/medmal claims defense for 23 years, please let me know. I would be happy to help.

    Randell,

We're in the same boat. I've been charging through my Master's by taking three online courses per semester while working full time. Usually that's been all right, and I'm in my last semester, but this time I had a crisis at work that got me off track. The part that made it worse is knowing that I've slacked in group work. I don't like being the slacker in a group any more than I like having a slacker when I'm the industrious one!

I think I'm getting back into a rhythm now and will finish all right, but I have to say I'll be extremely happy to be done. In fact, I'd hoped to start doctoral coursework right afterward in January, but now I'm happy that doing that won't be possible. I'll need a break.

I'm also wondering how I'll handle actually having to go back to class. If I barely have time to do this online, then how will I handle commuting and parking? (I suppose the answer there is that I'll have to be part time. Horrible.)
