I'd like to preface this by saying that I have no affiliation with the site mentioned in this post. ACE evaluated courses are accepted for College credit at numerous institutions... Universalclass.com has a ton of ACE evaluated courses at affordable prices just waiting to be added to your transcript! Have fun. http://www.Universalclass.com
Not Sorry no easy college credit here Not one course has been evaluated by ACE .. https://www.acenet.edu/nationalguide/
Re: Not On the contrary, Universalclass.com is a registered ACE CEU provider: http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Student_Services&Template=/CM/HTMLDisplay.cfm&ContentID=6089 ACE will transcript these courses for a fee (which you would pay directly to UniversalClass.com), and one can petition to have them granted as College credit, much like the FEMA courses which also count as CEU's. Its up to an individual University or College as to whether or not credit will be granted.
Re: Re: Not Actually, CEU's typically do not count as college credit toward a degree. They are simply continuing education credits. Many colleges and universities spell this out in their catalog. FEMA courses, on the other hand, have been evaluated for college credit by ACE.
Exactly. "Its up to an individual University or College as to whether or not credit will be granted."
Maxwell, Being registered at ACE as a CEU institution and providing classes that are evaluated for college credit by ACE are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. Universal Class is registered at ACE as a CEU class provider and they are on that list. However, the list that has the ACE EVALUATED training courses does NOT have Universal Class listed. So your original post is false.
Re: Re: Low-cost ACE evaluated courses! I realize that. I simply misread the information I was given. Right... LOL. Thank you for the rhetoric. The courses are indeed listed with ACE, and you can indeed petition to have them added for College credit. The University that I am currently studying through will evaluate any transcripted coursework for credit consideration. So, I will say this once again... "Its up to an individual University or College as to whether or not credit will be granted."
MrLazy rhetoric is absolutely true ! 'The Bottom line is Universalclass.com courses haven't been evaluated by ACE for college credit ! Universalclass.com may be listed as a CEU provider but CEU's and college credits are to different things. you can petition all you want but %99.9 of accredited colleges won't award college level credit for Universalclass.com courses alone. also Universalclass.com is not listed in the ACE national guide
Ok, I'll clarify. That is true. That is not true. Since your original post wasn't factual, I didn't unduly exaggerate. That is true. However, it is probable that much fewer institutions will grant credit for CEUs.
Re: Re: Low-cost ACE evaluated courses! LOL. It was just your use of the word "false". It reminded of me of my High School Economics Teacher, who would read students test answers out loud in front of the class, and then laugh when he came across a bad answer. He would read it, laugh, and then say "FALSE!". Some kids would cry, and he loved it. ... Yeah, he was quite a bastard You guys are absolutely right about that. I've known this for quite some time. However, I was notified of the site through Teachers.net' College Professors Board. When I saw that the company was on the ACE site, I immediately associated the courses with being ACE evaluated. Of course, that was incorrect. I should have looked at the evaluation listings rather than the assocation listings. The school I am with now will grant credits for CEU's, provided that the course is comparable in scope. In most instances however, they will only consider granting credit for CEU's if you've taken multiple CEU courses on that subject from instructors that are highly respected in the field. Then you have to submit to an assessment which includes a few exams on the subject. In other words, they make it difficult but not entirely impossible.
