Today I received my diploma from TESC - a Bachelor's Degree in English. I am the first person in my family to graduate from college. So what that I am almost 45! While I loved my classes at USF and St Pete, and even when I was a kid, I found that I really did much better in a distance learning environment. I was never one to participate in class, but I found it much easier to participate in the on-line environment.

While I still plan to be a life-long student, I am putting a Master's on hold until I pay off my school and my son's braces.

I can not thank you all enough for all the things I have learned on this site - you have all opened up so many new avenues for me to think about.

Congratulations, Alex's Mom! This is one of the best threads to see on this site.

Remember there are some very affordable master's programs out there, and some allow you to pay installments, so take even one class at a time of you can.

    Congrats!

It certainly does feel great to set a goal and reach it!
    (Even if you are 45).

It's also nice to see someone acknowledge the benefits of online learning. (I just came from another board dealing with clinical psychology and some rather nasty criticisms of online programs!)

Best wishes to you now and for the future!

Congratulations! I'm too broke for grad school too, but thanks to student loans, anything's possible. :D
