I would be suspect of any school that does not have a .edu website address....

They claim to be partnering with Bellevue University www.bellevue.edu , a perfectly legitimate, accredited university.

I also see where they have a link some how to Vincennes University. Vincennes is also a perfectly legitimate, accredited university.

It looks like a "value added" front end for other universities (Business to Business) model that offers toys as an incentive to go through them as an intermediary. Maybe I missed it, but they don't actually offer any degrees themselves or mention accreditation other than riding their partner institutions own.

My advice? Enroll with Bellevue directly (not because I'm an Alum, but because they're the only school mentioned on the site) and apply for a Best Buy card for the laptop. As an added point, I'm also military and using TA......this just seems shady, given that Bellevue also has outstanding student support and advisors. Other than the laptop and whatever additional fees they suck from our TA fund, I see no benefit.

That website is remarkably devoid of information.

It sounds similar to RUE, which likes to bill itself as a degree plan but which actually only sells overpriced study guides to taking the exams at Excelsior, or The College Network, another expensive portal to schools you could attend on your own.

  8. YOU CAN DO THAT AT BELLEVIEW?

  9. so what do you guys think, I really dont care if they milk my TA fund to give me a laptop because the military milks me (figuratively of course) and I really need a laptop, this deals sounds legit, i am going to call both these people and belleview on monday to get the offical skinny no this deal, but before i do that do you guys think i should go through with it? let me know what you think.

Indeed. It looks like some sort of student placing outfit; analog to what an employment agency would be.

They may charge you a fee up front for their service or perhaps the'll get their fee from the University once you enroll.

  11. I'm doing it, I called them today and they said They will be sending my laptop shortly after my course starts, They encourage me to take more classes with bellevue but i am not really interested in that, I have way to many clep and dantes credits to not go to one of the big 3. Ill keep you guys posted on my journey

  12. I got my laptop, it is pretty nice and the classes are informative. turns out to be a good deal so far.

What about UK schools, which mostly use .ac.uk?

No educational facility outside of the USA can have a .edu - as such all Canadian Universities end in .ca , germany .de, austria .de, UK .ac.uk , etc....
