Has anyone had any experiences with this college? It requires a regionally accreddited degree for admission, but it would be perfect for continuing my education.

University of Denver University College is part of DU meant for adult learners. The good:

Your diploma says University of Denver.

Last I checked the Master's is around $15,000 which is really cheap compared to a regular DU Master's at around $40,000 to $65,000.

    The bad:

I've heard mixed things about the quality of professors at University College.

They don't offer any "hard" degrees like Political Science, English, Biology....Instead they offer vague management and professional type degrees.

You don't take classes at the cool old DU buildings, classes are in less than impressive surroundings.

In my opinion this is better option than Phoenix or Webster. DU is very well respected in Colorado, but not very well known outside of this region. If you could choose between CU and DU, I'd take CU.

    Unfair Comparison

    Dear Sir/Madame

I was absolutely in disbelief to see your unfair comparison between University College at the University of Denver and Phoenix or Webster! Also, recommending CU over DU gives the reasoning behind your faulty claims, with all the respect to CU.

The good you mentioned is right, University College ( UCOL) is cheaper than the main campus of DU, so is The Women's College at DU, but not because of lesser educational quality, it is because they are helping the NOn-traditional adult students, who work full time , with the desire to continue their education with a prestigious degree.

However, the bad part you presented makes no sense:

1: Your claim (You don't take classes at the cool old DU buildings, classes are in less than impressive surroundings.)
My response: Students attend the same on-campus Classes as the Traditional students in the main buildings. Some Classes are offered in different buildings, within the campus, for security reasons, since classes are offered at night ( after 6 pm).
2: your claim (I've heard mixed things about the quality of professors at University College)
My response: The same Professors that teach and advice at The University College, teach other classes in Josef Korbel School, in Sturm, and in Daniel's College, etc...They are high quality professors that develop highly recognized programs, and they teach throughout the University of Denver.
3: your claim (they don't offer any "hard" degrees)
My response: They have to offer degrees named differently than the main campus, to not have a conflict interest. However, the professors from the main campus that teach at UCOL design the same programs, the same books and same tests as the ones in main campus. It is just the difference in the degree naming ( i.e. International Relations degree, becomes, Global Affairs degree, and so on..)

University College programs maintain the highest level of accreditation offered by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, one of the regional accrediting bodies recognized by the federal government.

Fully Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, University College
