Transfer GRE subject exam credit from Excelsior to TESC?

I've been wondering... is it possible to take a GRE subject exam, get credit for it from Excelsior's credit banking service, and then transfer those credits to TESC and have them apply towards a major at TESC?

I am helping a friend who is thinking about doing a degree via examination ala "BA in 4 Weeks" but he needs to be able to get financial aid and we both hate the name Excelsior. Being able to get up to 30 credits from one test is nice so we were wondering if there was any way to incorporate this into a TESC degree.

    Thanks!

I doubt that you could transfer the GRE subject credit from Excelsior to TESC, simply because TESC will still examine the source of the credit and determine that those credits are from what is to them a source they don't recognize. This happened to me on a significantly smaller scale in trying to transfer TESC credits from a NYU Foreign Language exam, and the TESC Poli Sci exam, from my TESC AA to my COSC BA; and these did not transfer as the credits were recognized as being from sources that Charter Oak did not accept.

That having been said, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to consider Charter Oak State College if one is squemish about the Excelsior name; COSC accepts GRE credit and they've got what is largely recognized as the best customer service and attitude (that was the case for me).

For most people, that 30 hours from one test is 'pie in the sky'. Generally speaking, in order to score that high on a GRE subject exam, one would already have an undergraduate in that subject and be exceptionally bright.

Give a GRE Subject exam practice test a try and see if you're scoring in the near 100% range with complete understanding of the concepts before you count on scoring high enough on the real beast for 30 hours of credit.

    Just my opinion.
