I saw this over in the games section of digg The UNCG Division of Continual Learning today announced it has developed a groundbreaking new video game for college credit that is scheduled to launch this fall. Called ECON 201, the game teaches the principles of microeconomics by following an alien species that must learn how to survive after crash-landing in a post-apocalyptic earth. http://blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2006/08/playing_games_f.html http://econ201.uncg.edu/dcl/econ201/ If I didn't have all my Social Sciences credit at Excelsior, I'd be tempted to try this out.
If I'm reading this right, it's $250 if you live in North Carolina, and like $1,500 if you don't. The former's a bargain, but the latter, wow. http://www.uncg.edu/reg/Catalog/current/Expenses/RateTable.pdf -=Steve=-
This is interesting. The Mercury News website says the following; "Students can register for ECON 201 even if they are not enrolled at UNCG. The course fulfills three credit hours in the social sciences—a core requirement for most college and university degree programs. In-state students pay $280 for the course, while out-of-state visiting students pay $480. " This is nearly correct for the in-state tution, but way off for the out of state.
maybe i should take this course maybe i should take this course instead of the clep .... 480.00 dollars...hmmm
