I don't care where it comes from as long as I have one...who has the cheapest CJ certificate that actually matters (NA or RA, it doesn't really matter just cost).
You couldn't get much more inexpensive than the Master of Liberal Studies, with Concentration in Criminal Justice, from the fine, public and regionally-accredited Fort Hays State University. Total tuition five thousand something. Or just take several courses. You might get just an undergraduate certificate for less, for no real reason other than its encompassing fewer semester hours, and/or its being offered by a very cheap public community college, if you got local rates or they extended local rates to all distance learners. But how much of a difference, really, could we even be talking here? Don't sell yourself short to shave maybe a tiny bit off a (roughly) fifty-three hundred dollar Master's degree. Unless you really need the potentially easier coursework, or less in total, of some undergraduate offering - and depending on the nature of the program, even those differences wouldn't be guaranteed - if price is your crucial deciding factor, go Fort Hays. Or a South African research master's.
Undergrad CJ certificate Hello, I am still on the hunt for a very cheap undergrad certificate in Criminal Justice or Homeland Security. Certificate with the least amount of credits would be great. This is for salary enhancement so please don't judge. Hille
Re: Undergrad CJ certificate Adams State College http://www2.adams.edu offers an undergrad online certificate in Legal Investigations, if that works for you.

Program consists of 66 hours (roughly 22 courses). 4) Andrew Jackson University - Offers certificates in the following areas related to your interests: Corrections, Criminology, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement Management, Legal Principles of Law Enforcement. Each certification consists of 4 classes (12 total hours). Program cost for each is about $1860. 5) Washington Online Learning Institute - Offers a 10-month accelerated Paralegal Certification program for about $4800. All of the above are NA with the exception of WOLI. WOLI is an RA candiate with a final decision expected in October 2006. My wife is currently enrolled in the WOLI program and loves it. Each class (11 in full) takes about 4 weeks to complete. Hope this helps. Pug
Central Texas College, undergrad Criminal Justice Certificate, 30 semester hours, 2 specialization options, $1,380 TX residents/$3,900 non-residents, RA
Gatlin Education, in partnership with "insert your zip code to find the closest participating school near you", offers three CJ related certificates: Paralegal, Forensic Computer Examiner, Principals of Private Investigation. Open enrollment and savvy technology. Plus, if it's a name you're looking for type in a zip other than your own that's close to "good, better, best" school and see if they participate. Every course offered through Gatlin has the same format, instructor(s), etc. the only difference is which school grants the certificate.
Although August has come & gone...it might be prudent to contact the University to see if scholarships are still available. Hey...it's discounted tuition. http://andrewjacksonuniversity.blogspot.com/2006/08/250000-available-in-aju-scholarships.html

Re: Undergrad CJ certificate Check out: www.EXCELSIOR.edu as they have a new Homeland Security Certificate course. GOOD LUCK!!
The least expensive Homeland Security Cert that I can find is about $1,000 from California University of Pennsylvania. A RA University..... http://www.cup.edu/ilpp/certificate_in_homeland_security.htm 4 classes........they are part of the academic consortium for Homeland Security, which means jack to you probably, but it's a good thing.
This is a pretty cool find! One thing should be mentioned about this and the Gatlin certificates...college credit is not granted. These are part of their CEU program. Pug
