Hi, I think this question will get more eyes on this side of the site. I am helping a friend start his college journey through suggestions. He has attended a DETC approved school this year but I have persuaded him for long term goals to get a concurrent degree at TESC. He attended a degree mill type school prior to this but actually gained skills in programing and various tech related things that he does during his job. Since we are in NJ TESC is an obvious choice. Now I am looking for testing suggestions for CS. I am meeting him with him next week so input is greatly appreciated. Hille

    Hille,
You mention that you live in NJ and so the reason forTESC. I'm guessing for in-state tuition purposes. But I would consider looking into Excelsior depending on a couple of things.

    1) How many DETC credits this person has may be a factor since Excelsior now appears to be accepting them:

(I don't have any DETC credits so I haven't followed this too closely.)

    2) Excelsior is pretty generous with credits for tech certifications if your friend wants to test out tech credits or already has some. (including 4 UL credits with two Comptia exams)

Excelsior also appears to be a little less than the in-state tuition at TESC.

By the way, Excelsior was not my first choice. I would have preferred to get a degree from TESC. If only they had a BS liberal studies with a focus degree.....
