I am currently taking MBA courses at Texas A&M--Commerce. So far I taken one course and like their program--it is is ACCSB accrediated and reasonably priced. The background courses are for a general MBA: (1) Accounting for Managers, (2) Economics for Decision Makers, (3) Finance for Decision Makers, (4) Quantitative Analysis for Managers, (5) Distribution Management for Global Markets, (6) Human Behavior in Organizations.

I was recently checking out the MBA program at SUNYIT and liked it because the background coursework seems to be engineering-oriented: (1) Project Management, (2) Managing New Product Design and Development, (3) Business Law, Ethics, and Intellectual Property Rights, (4), E-commerce and Entrepreneurship, (5) Cases in Technology and Innovation Management Strategic Planning, and (6) Strategic Planning. It is not yet AACSB accredited but is also reasonably priced.

There is a new non-DL MBA program at University of Amsterdam which is also reasonably priced but it requires taking courses all day on Tuesday. The background courses are for a general MBA: (1) Personal Skills, (2) Corporate Finance, (3) Quantitative Methods, (4) Economics for International Business, (5) Financial Accounting. Some of the professor are from U.S. schools such as Harvard and MIT. It is NVAO accredited (regionally accredited).

Any opinions about TAMUC versus SUNYIT versus a brand new program at University of Amsterdam?

My vote's for TAMU, unless you happen to live in New England.

If you plant to stay here eating frikandel, then Amsterdam without a doubt. If you plan to go back, also. I am not an MBA, just an engineer, but I think people would appreciate the diversity in education. Tot ziens.

Oh, incidentally I used to live Upstate NY and Suny Utica is a nice school, in the middle of nowhere, but nice. It is impossible to compare to UvA, an international, well known university.

I really enjoy eating stroopwafels, patat, and occasionally bitterballen (although I am not a big frikandel fan).

I would enjoy doing my entire MBA studies at University of Amsterdam (UvA) but this might not be practical because it requires missing work one day a week. My initial plan is to try taking one or two courses at UvA (that means an afternoon off rather than the whole day) and to do the rest of my MBA courses at either at TAMUC or SUNYIT. If I choose TAMUC then I can also take an non DL course in China. However, I am not sure which program, TAMUC or SUNYIT, would be more recognized in Europe. Also, I wonder how an employer in the U.S. might view an MBA from UvA?

I have had a good experience so far at TAMUC. Can anyone share their experience with taking courses at SUNYIT?
