are excelsior classes of average difficulty or harder than average? i currently go to erau online, i find courses very easy, no proctored exams, flexible teachers. thanks guys.
[edit] hehe, what he said ^^ I knew someone that earned a bachelors from Embry-Riddle. She said the math was hard, but everything else was okay.
Based on the 2 IT courses I took at Excelsior, I would say easier than a non-DL course at a brick-and-mortar university. I can't compare it to online courses from other universities since I have no experience with DL except at Excelsior. The grading is certaintly adjusted for inflation as I mention here. Other ways the courses I took at Excelsior were easy and flexible: - No proctors - No time limits on tests - Tests are open-book - No penalties for turning in assignments late
I also took one IT course at Excelsior and will be starting a second one in a couple weeks. I agree with Daniel, except I think we were not given credit for late assignments. Our quizes were timed, but the final and mid-term were not. The major drawback with Excelsior is that you have to do a chapter every week. I don't know about everyone else here but one of the points I enjoy most about DL is the ability to study when I can/want. Some weeks I might be able to do 2 chapters whereas other weeks I don't really have time to do a chapter. I enjoy the freedom of Athabasca (except for required proctor) and the grading of Excelsior. If only I could find a school that had the best of both worlds! Brandon
Yeah, I believe my instructor was the most flexible of the bunch. He even let us turn in our midterms and finals a few days late.
