Not bad I agree, but I think they are starting to price themselves out of the ballgame. My RA Peru State classes are only $114 a credit, but they are going up too to $140 a credit I believe. I'll have to glance at my Fin Aid report to verify but.... They also offer all of the same undergrad degrees as CCU. Dunno, I was taking a hard look at CCU to finish by BS - Management but maybe second guess now? We'll see.....
Re: Re: Re: New CCU undergrad rate! Closvis Comminity College is RA and is $110 per class, about $36.60 per credit!!! If you want a bigger name, Louisianna State, also RA, is $76 per credit. Penn Foster, DETC, breaks out to somewhere around $55 per credit and includes all text books. In addition, most of their courses are also ACE evaluated for a MUCH easier recognition/acceptance process when transferring to other schools. Pug
Re: Re: New CCU undergrad rate! Either way, I wish you the best MT! My intent is not to push for one school over the other. I was merely announcing the new tuition rate for those who are trying to decide before 8/15/06. I will say CCU has great customer service, and is a good school. Take care, Abner
Re: Re: Re: New CCU undergrad rate! No I hear yah! I am still taking a good look at CCU, just wish I could have locked in last year right after they just received their DETC accreditation. It was only $62 a credit then! CCU is still way more flexible as far as pacing compared to Peru. Thanks for the info and have a great day!
FROM THEIR WEBSITE: PERU STATE COLLEGE 2005-2006 TUITION RATES ARE BELOW Undergraduate Rates Internet On-line 1 cr hr: $130.00 Graduate Rates Internet On-line 1 cr hr: $162.50 Eight week classes too, nice...... __________________________________________________ Great rates if you ask me!!
Yes, it's still a great rate. However, it seems to me whenever a college/program becomes popular because of its low price and ease of transfering credit, the price hikes usually aren't far behind. Too bad I didn't enroll at Peru when it still had the $114 per credit price.
Peru State College looks like a great school. LSU looks excellent, too (yay for independent study courses!), but it looks like their only bachelors is in general studies... if they had an independent study psych degree program I would be sold!
I signed up for their program in 2/2001. When I got my CCU degree (now I sound like my father) in 11-2001 / 8-2003 I paid about $4,500 for the BS/MBA combo pack!
Hmmm CCU's website still shows the old rates today. I'm still waiting to get my credit evaluation back. I wonder if I'll get old or new rates?
I would venture to say you should get the old rate since you turned in your application prior to the 8/15/06 deadline. Good luck, Abner
