Just stopping by to say hello. Taking three classes this semester with all of them starting at the same time has been challenging, but I am surviving. My children start back to school on August 10th, then the real fun begins :D

WOW - and I thought I had it tough with both my wife and I taking one class every six weeks with an 8 year old and 2 year old (both wonderful girls).

Its very challenging working, going to school and finding the time to give attention to the kids everyday.

    Good luck!

    Way to Go, Mom!

I don't know how you do it!

Would love to hear how you rate your school now that you've gotten so far, better than ever? still just as good? I'm still considering them - the 12 hours they require in world view, etc....has me adding up the tuition dollars. Tell us more!!!

Thanks for the encouragement you guys.

    Longwaytogo,
I have to be honest. Deciding to enroll at Liberty University is one of the best decisions I have made regarding college. I have nothing but praise for them, the advisors and everyone associated with Liberty. It has been a most enjoyable experience. I would not consider trading schools again. My only regret is that I did not go with them when I first decided to enroll in college, I would be just that much farther. You are required to take religion courses but as I attended Catholic schools from grade 4 until I graduated high school, it is really not that hard. Good luck with your decision on schools.

It is... I have two girls ( 4 and 2 ) and take 4 - 5 courses / semester year round (yes, including summer), and work full time. I've added a good number of grey hairs but it'll all be worth it. I'll be done my degree in 2 years and the masters that I plan on pursuing after that will be at a normal pace :)

Having patted my own back just now, I couldn't imagine doing school with 5 kids! My hat is off to you, Madam!

So, how far into your program are you now?

    BlueMason,
Sounds like you have your hands full also. I go to school year round and if I continue with the schedule my advisor has set for me, I should be done with my bachelors in Spring 2009.

    Ted,
I am on my second semester and once I complete these 9 hours, I will have 21 hours. Seems like 120 hours is so far away :)

Does that include your previous work? Texas Tech, I think it was.

Aye it is busy... in 12 months I racked up 51 credits, and I just enrolled in 5 more courses.

I wish I had access to CLEP, my venture would be much quicker but the nearest CLEP testing center is about a 6 hour drive! Oh well, I'm moving as soon as I sell my house and then the closest one will only be a 5 hour drive away *laff*

Have you taken any CLEPs, Mom*5 ?

Thanks for the reply about Liberty, Roz!
I am glad that after you changed schools you found the best fit for you. I have the same background as you mentioned and am not opposed to taking all those credits in religion, but at my age, I just really am interested in digging into my major - and 12 hours seems like a lot, but I understand that it probably goes by quickly.

I'm about to change schools here shortly, myself, so it's really good to hear your first-hand report on Liberty!

By the way, I just learned that at Old Dominion University, and some other schools I've checked out, 60 hours earned "in residence" are the minimum required to "graduate with honors."

If a transfer student already has an Associate Degree, this is something to think about in choosing a school. Taking a course here or there online, I am finding, adds credits to your transcript in a way that may not help with the credit tally. Somehow I missed this last year when I started back to school; all I saw was the requirement for 30 hours of residency to graduate. Turns out, the honors information is in a different place in the catalog!
As an online student, I've found little advising support with my school. Glad you feel differently about Liberty, and keep us posted on your progress!
