just curious ....which courses would it make it in 1 year you would get all of the degrees legally ?

i know the big 3 ..... and then the MBA or MA route ....and finally the PhD possibly with Union Institute...

I'm not an expert, but I would think it would be very difficult to do this (if not imppossible) with an RA program.

Supposedly, you can get a BA in 4 weeks (according to http://www.bain4weeks.com), but I don't think you can test out of graduate level programs.

I can't imagine one could test out of an entire Bachelor's degree in four weeks, even if one already knew all the material. It took me several months to test out of a year's worth of credit, and that was in subjects where I was already confident about the material.

And no, you cannot test of out grad school. The only legitimate exception of which I'm aware is the MBA from Heriot-Watt, where credit is earned solely by examination. However, those tests are notoriously difficult.

I've often wondered where Lawrie Miller got the name BA in 4 Weeks for her distance learning website. Dr. Bear used to tell the story of some Army sargeant (sp?) who decided to see how long it would take him to finish his degree and, by testing out, he did it in an extremely short amount of time.

I think he came up with a schedule in which a person who already knew the material could theoretically take all the tests in four weeks. One in the morning and one in the evening every weekday, more or less.

I wouldn't want to try it, though!

As a practical matter, even if one had laid out exactly which 40 tests (~ 120 credits) one was going to take, how likely would it be that one could find open test centers actually offering said tests when you need them in order to complete two tests, one AM and one PM, every weekday for four weeks straight?

    I did 51 credits in 6 weeks.

That's not a problem. When I was working toward my BA at TESC, I tested at a local Strayer campus whenever I wanted. Didn't even call ahead, just walked in any day during business hours and took as many as I wanted until closing.

    practical advices

you guys are all right .....

you can test out of the exams that you have a good knowledge..

for instance, i like trivia and history is my favorite areas....

so like Intro to Mid East , Rise and Fall of Soviet Union , West Civil ,

    those are my areas .....

while technical areas like Calc I or Chemistry and Biology ....

I would need some time for taking those examinations..

Generally speaking, these tests provide undergrad -- not grad credit. Since a grad degree doesn't just measure what you know but also attempts to contribute to your educational formation, by quick testing you'd be cheating yourself of the educational depth that comes with processing over time.

    No wine before its time.
