    Hello everybody,
Anybody have experience in AS degree in computer Science at Penn Foster? I know that Penn Foster is Nationally accredited. How are this Nationally accredited degrees from US especially the DETC accredited degrees considered outside US? like Europe, Asia,..etc. What about the repution of this degrees outside US? Do you think this Associate degree can give you access to UK universities or can you apply for excemption for specific courses like the University of London's Bachelor of Computing. At the begining of this year I was rejected from University of South Africa (UNISA), the matriculation board which evaluates the access for both domestic and international students to the higher eduction had claimed that the don't accept High schools diplomas taken from other countries other than yours. I am from Somalia but I have a Ethiopian High School Diploma. Therefore, will this AS degree in Computer Science give me an access to UNISA since it also accredited by DETC?

    Abdi,

Welcome to the Degreeinfo forum. Might I suggest you present your question to the UNISA matriculation board? I hesitate to answer yes, because although Penn Foster shares DETC accreditation with UNISA, Penn Foster's tertiary credential is two year and UNISA specifies a three- or four-year credential if using that to qualify for admission.

Again, the very best action for you to take is to talk directly to the matriculation board.

    Good luck,
    Mark
