Environmental Studies
Any one here taking any kind of environmental studies.
If so, what school are you attending and how do like that school?
What degree are you going for?
Thanks

Not yet but soon .....
Hi Pat,
I am not taking anything yet in this field but there are a few programs that I know of,
American Public offers B.S and M.S. APUS
I thought Mountain State offered a BS but all I can find is the AS right now MSU
University of Maryland offers BS and MS UMUC Thomas Edison offers AS and BS TESC
my favorite- Harvard Extension offers ALB and ALM HES
Also - Prescott College Prescott
I think one of the Oregon Universities offers a BS degree completion too - Eastern Oregon, but don't quote me on that as I couldn't find it on their page
Let me know if you know of anymore...... | | | | | Boston University | Boston University
BU offers an online Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy.
The school is regionally accredited, the most widely recognized form of accreditation. [/center] | | | | | | It is hard to fail, but it is worse to never to have tried to succeed. - Teddy Roosevelt -

However you should know that good jobs in environment (sewage works, water works, energy, etc) usually hire civil engineers , chemical engineers , chemists, and other basic engineering /scientific degrees. Environmental degree often do not have depth - good for "political" positions though. | | | | | Engineering Degrees | Engineering Degrees
Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and the commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs.
Many engineers develop new products. During the process, they consider several factors. For example, in developing an industrial robot, engineers specify the functional requirements precisely; design and test the robot's components; integrate the components to produce the final design; and evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
In addition to their involvement in design and development, many engineers work in testing, production, or maintenance. These engineers supervise production in factories, determine the causes of a component’s failure, and test manufactured products to maintain quality. They also estimate the time and cost required to complete projects.
•Starting salaries are among the highest of all college graduates.
•Employment is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations, although growth will vary by specialty; overall job opportunities for engineers are expected to be good.
•A bachelor's degree in engineering is required for most entry-level jobs, but some positions may require a graduate degree. Click To Find Engineering Schools | | | | | | Ian Anderson

I'm a wastewater treatment plant operator and all of our so-called gurus are engineers or chemistry majors. One of my co-workers has an environmental science degree. | | | | | Concordia University - Portland | Concordia University - Portland

That may be true, but if anyone is interested in emigrating to New Zealand, you should give that Environmental Science degree another look. Immigration "down under" has decided there is a shortage of environmental scientists, so those words in your diploma can go far in landing you permanent residence. Just a random tid bit. :D | | | | | Concordia University - Portland | Concordia University - Portland

One thing that I find funny is one of our chemical reps graduated from TESU as a Nuclear Engineering Technology major. When I first meet him he told me he was a nuclear engineer . It sounded good until he told me where he graduated from. I’m not knocking TESU, but I know the difference between Nuclear Engineering Technology and Nuclear Engineering .
I guess I could call myself Civil Engineering if I decided to go the Civil Engineering Technology route at TESU. :D | | | | | Engineering Degrees | Engineering Degrees
