Consistency would be really, really helpful...

I've finished up my three classes at SPC this summer and now I'm taking on my two LSU IS courses. I must say that the biggest thing lacking in my experience so far has been consistency of course design and implementation.

My three instructors at SPC used three different terminologies when dividing the course. One used "weeks" while another used "modules" and another divided the class into "chapters".

That made it a little tough on me, as you can imagine. I think institutions should have a standard that all instructors must follow when designing how a class is laid out. I'm sure some schools do, but in this case it would have really helped at SPC.

I provided a lot more detail on this in my blog, if you want to read the full brain dump on the issue. The link to my blog is in my sig.

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of inconsistency in their online classes from the same school? Anyone experiencing excellent consistency?
