I was hoping someone could clarify the whole GPA issue with Thomas Edison. Do they compute or transcript GPA's at all? and/or Do they compute GPA, but only on coursework completed after you have been admitted to the college? (And regarding coursework completed after admission, does this mean CLEP, DSST, and ECE exams and courses, or just TESC exams and courses?) and/or Do they compute a GPA, but with a minimum amount of credit hours not obtained through exams? Thanks
cederic824, In my particular circumstance I transferred everything I needed to graduate save for one class I was attending locally. I completed no classes at TESC. During the credit evaluation stage you get a degree audit - a printout mailed to you as well as an online copy on your TESC student page - which contains a GPA. I don't recall my two CLEP exams having a grade nor if they had been calculated into the GPA but I did not try to verify that. Once my final class was complete and I graduated, I received an official copy of my final transcript. The GPA was no longer there. I looked for it just now and have it lost in a pile somewhere, but if I remember correctly there are letter grades but not hours so a GPA could not accurately be calculated from the official transcript alone. GPA Good Morning, You can get a GPA posted from TESC on an official transcript. You also can retake a class and have a grade expunged. The GPA became an issue several years ago when TESC became actively involved in the NJ alternative teaching program. They had to calculate the GPA for the student to move forward in another school for Part 2 of the process. Hille -
Thanks for the responses. So, is it similiar to Excelsior in that they do not routinely compute and record GPAs on the official transcript, but you can a GPA report by submitting a separate request?
