    Hello all,
I received my first set of grades in my quest for a BS in Psychology from Liberty University. I took 12 hours and earned 3- B's and 1-C. It took a lot of hard work but I did it. I have just starting taking my second 9 hours. Unfortunately all the classes started on the same day. One class lasts 8 weeks and two last 16 weeks.

There's a saying that "well begun is half done", and while credit-hours may not show it, I think having built that momentum is critical. Congratulations!

On Monday I finished my third semester (one to go!) for the Master's and am checking a little too often to see if my projects have been graded yet so I know what my final grades are. Nothing conclusive yet, but I'm hopeful I finally had a 4.0 semester. Fall doesn't begin until late August, but I have to finish a paper for a conference, do a FAFSA to renew aid, and submit all my PhD applications by then so it's not exactly a vacation....

Congrats "Mom"! :) Feels good to get started, doesn't it? I was on the little known "17 year degree plan", and after the efforts started paying off in tangible grades, it picked up momentum.

With "5", you'll hit obstacles and days where it seems almost impossible, but hang in there - you're off to a great start!

Steve, it sounds like you learned the requisite perseverance early on - if the 4.0 works out, I'd say you earned it. Best of luck, and lord knows we all appreciate how "easy" that work, the Government, and higher education make the administrative processes the rest of us..............

Congrats to all, my "Taking the GMAT" book just showed up in the mail yesterday, so I'm a little more behind the 8-ball :D

Congrats! How do you like Liberty? I've talked to the school several times and found them to be very helpful. I have considered taking courses with them. How are the exams administrered? What are the writing requirements like as far as term papers and essays?

    Liberty classes

Hi Pug and thanks everyone for the encouraging words :)

Glad to see that everyone is doing good with their studies.

    Pug,
I love going to Liberty University. I only wish that I had started with them first when I decided to start in my quest for a degree in Psychology. If I stay on track, according to them, I should finish in 2009.

Last semester, none of my tests required a proctor. They were all on line. We could not use notes or textbooks. We were required to do this on the honor system. This semester, only one of my tests require a proctor. Since my supervisor has a MBA, he was approved as my proctor and I do not have to go anywhere to take the tests. He told me yesterday that he had already received the tests.

The longest paper I have had to write has been 1500 words, so that also was not bad. The representatives and advisors at Liberty University are all so nice and helpful. I know I made the right choice this time in my selection of colleges and will continue through until the end and I reach my goal of a BS in Psychology.

    Take care everyone !!

    Congratulations!

As Steve mentioned, you've now built momentum. Don't get too concerned with the grades, you most likely need to shake-off the "rust" of going back to school (although your grades are certainly respectable).

    Best of luck with Liberty!

    Congrats!!!

I'd been checking from time to time to see an update - what a great first semester for you! That wasn't easy, I'm sure!

Now, take those vitamins and grab any relaxing moments you can, while you can, right? I am really glad that you are happy with your choice of school. I'm taking a Psyc. class this summer at JMU....it's 4 days a week, 3 hours a day and each week we have a paper due that has taken me 20 hours per.....in addition to commuting time. I'm pullin' for ya!

Keep us updated on your next round of courses, ok?
