Hello !! Thanks for reading the message !!

I did 3 university years of chemistry in france when my schizophrenia occured . Now I want to study physical sciences (theoretical physics of dynamical systems prefered) in order to do a Phd.

    My constraints are :
    - i live in france
    - i earn 640 euros per months due to my handicap
    - i have difficulties to follow full time classes
    My advantages :
    - i love learning maths/physics/physical chemistry
    - i have no time requirement to achieve my goal
    - this is a lifetime project so i am very motivated

So, i searched a free/cheap online school to graduate but didn't find :-( Have you heard about that over the world? Africa? India? I don't know !
Are there research projects you can do at home? self funded?
Any opinion welcome to help me realize my dream !
    Thanks

A few questions first. You say you studied chemistry for three years in France. Such as it is, in England, the bachelor's degree is a three-year degree, while the bachelor's degree is a four-year degree in the United States. So, are you finished with your bachelor's? Or are you looking for a place to finish up your bachelor's? Or are you looking to go straight into the doctorate? Or pick up a master's first, then the doctorate? By the way, I'm manic-depressive; you fight a brave struggle with your schizophrenia. Good luck!

I'm surprised that there are no options in France where you wouldn't pay tuition. Aren't there universities elsewhere in Europe where you wouldn't have to pay anything, like in Scandinavia perhaps?

If not, you don't sound like you mind writing in English, so yes, I'd think that a South African university might be your best bet, especially if you're getting by on 640 Euros per month. They will require you to have completed your first degree before you can apply for postgraduate study. Have you done this?

As far as which South African school, wihle many schools allow it under certain circumstances, Unisa is best known for distance learning at the doctoral level. You can check them out at http://www.unisa.ac.za.

(They're known for bureacracy, so if you don't get anywhere talking to them directly, try their North American agent, IACI-Canada at http://www.iaci-canada.com. If they can't help you being in Europe, they can surely point you in the right direction.)

    Good luck!

Re: Re: help me graduate in sciences

    Hello !
It is quite different in France as engineering schools are separated from university. They require 2 preparatory years and last 3 years for a total of 5 years (eq to a master's degree). Actually i did the first year of a school of chemistry that i have quit because of illness. As a consequence, i did graduate. So i guess i have to complete a bachelor's, no?
My goal is to pass a phd. If a master's not required, why not?
