I am looking to see if there are any fully online teaching crediential programs for any state that does not require in class student teaching requirment?

The reason I ask this is because there are many online high schools and I would like to possibly have a chance to teach at one but most or all of them require teaching certificate from any state. I guess that if you have on ein one state it is transferable to most other states to use for teaching. I just do not have time to go out and take time off of work, school, etc to go get a teaching crediential with student teaching for a full semester.

Hope someone here knows of a solution thank you.

    Hi Gwindel,

I am finishing a masters in education myself (this summer) and so I'm familiar with sacrificing the time from family, work, money, and self.

Here in the state of New York, there are no teaching certifications that do away with student observations and student-teaching requirements.

The only exception is a program called: "Teaching Fellows."

The Teaching Fellows program allows a select few (usually mid-career changers) to obtain a free Masters in Education while teaching in the area of concentration at public school, with an actual salary. Generally, most states have a program that's similar.

Gwindel, your MBA may be looked at favorably, signifying a person with an aptitude for math (a shortage area).

I may be wrong, but it's highly unlikely that an online program, without the necessary time in the classroom, may not meet the requirements for certification in most states.

    Good luck,

    Maria
