At the University of Manitoba School of Medicine:

    Assistant Professor
Elizabeth Ngugi, RN, BSc, MA, PhD (Columbia Pacific).

This is from the U of Manitoba School of Medicine website. Other webpages explicitly state all three degrees are from Columbia Pacific.

I've sent two e-mails to the Dean of the School of Medicine requesting an explanation. Both e-mails have been ignored.

Faculty of Medicine without accredited degrees

Tell the dean in a new e-mail that if nothing is done you will contact the Minister of Education in his province of Manitoba.
I support you on this !

Re: Faculty of Medicine without accredited degrees

I've sent e-mail to the Provincial Minister, Shadow Minister, and the local newspaper.

Incidentally, check out the profile of the Director of the Addictions Foundation Manitoba - John Barody. MBA from "Northland Open University" of Whitehorse, Yukon (!). I complained about this too. The reference to his MBA is gone from the AFM website, but can be found elsewhere - eg /www.ccsa.ca/NR/rdonlyres/3CFEEE26-454A-4741-99B7-C7F5BDC9739C/0/ccsasumminstfaculty2005e.pdf

    Degrees UNaccredited

It is certainly a worrying event !

Definitely misleading to the patients, the university students, the taxpayers and to the good reputation of Canadian institutions, besides the candidates rejected for these positions unfairly.

Too bad the universities students papers are closed for the summer.

I do not feel comfortable; your actions are commendable.

How is it that HR departments don't keep a list of unaccredited schools or at least take the 1 hour to research a school...

And to think that someone with a bogus degree landed a job giving lectures to potential physicians! Amazing... simply amazing.

this is really upsetting, my sister has a PhD in medicine research from McGill University and has been struggling to find a job for a year and you have people with mills getting the positions.
