Comes now Breyer State University, whose campus is a post office box in Kamiah, Idaho and whose fax machine is in Ohio. Here is the Email I sent to the administrator, one Dr. Flarey. The name "Mary Storrs" who registered the website is vaguely familiar. Any bells rung?

    Dear Dr. Flarey
    [email protected]

As author of Bears' Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning, I often get questions about schools that are not in my book, and I'm starting to get them about Breyer State (www.breyerstate.com).

I am confused by the fact that your fax is in Ohio and your address is in Idaho. Where is the university actually located?

I appreciate that there are legitimate unaccredited schools, but they all have degree-granting authority from somewhere. Where does yours come from?

I'd be interested in knowing what facility you have in Kamiah, Idaho besides your post office box. And if you'd care to tell me where your own doctorate is from, and the role of Mary Storrs, who registered your website, that would also be much appreciated.

Thank you for providing this information.

I'm posting this letter to the forum at www.degreeinfo.com as well, so that experts in higher education can be aware and perhaps comment.

    Sincerely,

John Bear., Ph.D. (from Michigan State University) www.degree.net

Very interesting. I just posted a related note on the Canyon College thread.

Canyon College's accreditor, which is also at the same address as The American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, is located at 1477 Tripodi Circle, Niles, OH 44446. This appears to be a single-family home.

AIHCP's website is, conveniently, registered to one Dominick Flarey. My guess is that the fax machine for Breyer resides at their address, which is almost certainly Flarey's home.

Also, very intriguingly, Breyer State's website is down at this moment, but the server it runs on is *NOT* down. This could be because their DNS server is down, or it could be because they've taken the site down after receiving John's letter. Time will tell.

AIHCP appears to offer bogus credentials for various psychological services, such as grief counseling, hypnotherapy, and "legal nurse consulting", whatever that is. In the same dangerous realm as the bogus naturopathic schools, if you ask me.
