    As I commented in the article, evidently to agreement, this is the sort of thing that smart, lazy students will easily circumvent. I think it's nothing more than a false sense of security for instructors and administrators.

    Or CYA for the institution. Like network security, there is no "absolute" - simply levels of "best efforts".

    Even FTF - in a large class, someone could come in, take a test for another person, and leave. It really comes down to how much effort they want to put in to cheating.

    No, smart-lazy is not like skinny-fat. Smart-stupid is like skinny-fat. Energetic-lazy is like skinny-fat. But smart-lazy is not like skinny-fat.
