I am new to distand learning and I am not sure where to turn.
I want a bachelors degree in Psychology. Here is a little about my self, I am 47 with just a GED. I would have to quit my full time job to attend the University of Alaska, no can do.
Any suggestions for schools? I have checked out the University of Phoenix online. They told me I need to attend Axia first.
    Any help would be appreicated.

Excelsior College also offers both a BA and a BS in Psychology. All the courses that you would need to complete the degree can be done through relatively inexpensive distance classes and/or through CLEP or ECE examinations.

    Patricia,

Ugh. Stay away from Axia/UofP. IMHO, these schools are both extremely expensive and overrated. I attended UofP (on campus) back in 2001. While I did have a good experience with one of my Professors, overall I was disapointed with the group project requirement. I don't like having my grade depend upon another student. Also, Phoenix doesn't even offer a major in Psychology. They do offer a major in Human Services, which is not the same thing.

Anyway, a number of fine schools offering a BA/BS in Psychology have already been mentioned, however, if cost is a concern for you, then check out Peru State College. Peru is a regionally accredited school located in Nebraska. Tuition is only $114/credit ($342/3-credit course). They offer a BS in Psychology as well as degrees in Business and Criminal Justice.

    Peru State College

I've seen Peru State College mentioned before on this forum, but I am still amazed at the affordability of this RA college.

Here is a quote from their questions page.

And to top all of this off, admissions is free!
