If you go to the ACE website and sign up for thier transcript service ($20 or $25) it works like a credit bank. If you complete a course from Penn Foster or any other shool or company that has been ACE elaluated you go online with ACE and select the course you completed, ACE will electronically confirm this with the school or company, and send a transcript with ACE,s letterhead and format that includes the course description and credit reccomendation to the college you select. This may seem like an additional cost but it collects all of your various ACE credits in one place, and a college that states they will accept ACE credit wont reject something directly from ACE,also it eliminates if the course is listed in the latest catalog.
I recommended this approach to a number of students when I was a military career counselor. Otherwise you sometimes encounter entities hesitant to accept credit unless "laundered" through a college or university. Also very useful to folks who anticipate continued education to keep their proficiency up to date or who need continuing education credits on a single transcript.
