There is a posting in the APUS student lounge that says the Dean has announced their RA status. I expect if this is true to see an official announcement soon.

I have also read the APUS is going to keep its DETC accreditation due to strong ties to that body.

Am I correct that they will now be the only DETC / RA accredited school? If so, do you think this will have an impact on anything?

I believe Kaplan University is DETC/RA as well.

Penn Foster is RA for their high school and vocational programs, NA for their associate degree programs.

    APUS Financial Aid

I received an email from their financial aid office last week in which they stated that they anticipate being a Title IV school this summer. That means Pell Grants and Stafford Loans et.al.

They already charge $250 a credit hour, the maximum that the military tuition assistance will reimburse. If they get anymore expensive, they'll price themselves right out of their primary market. Of course they could come up with some way to adjust their prices for military members, but I can make my $4500 go a lot further at other schools.

Hahaha! They can play the same game as University of Phoenix. UoP charges $250.00/credit for Military personnel from T.A, but charging more for civilian. Who knows? It is just my guess.

Southern Methodist University plays better than that, you'll 50% discount tuition if you are entitled to MGIB, or Military personnel.

NA was good enough for my purposes as well, but I'm proud to be an AMU student during this period. The utility of my master's degree, when completed, just went up substantially, if I chose to change careers again.

Absolutely, Jassen. I am proud as well to be a student during this period.

Very interesting. They switched it back to candidate. Wonder what this could mean?

Thats wierd. NCA listed APU as accredited. They must have changed it. Well, they better hurry up. There are students and former students who are anticipating a formal celebration of RA status. Filled with sake, vodka, and shouts of glee. :D
