Ok I'm pursuing a degree at a traditional university and just found out that I was doing a crappy job of planning. Calc 3 is a prereq for a course I need to take in the fall to stay on track and I haven't taken it yet. Problem is I have to work full time over the summer to afford school and I can't find any evening Calc 3 classes over the summer at any of the local universities.

Does anyone know of an online-based Calc 3 course I could take and hopefully get transfer credit for? I would prefer it to have video lectures of a professor, because I don't do so well with just "read the lesson from the textbook and do the homework".

    Thanks in advance

LSU's calculus is not an online format. It is indepedence study, and it is sucks.........I took it and dropped it. Touro University International.

There is a HUGE difference between paying $400 for a semester of Calc 3 vs Paying $1000. LSU is independent study and way cheaper.

Self-paced coorespondence (Math F202X) using James Stewart's book. Twenty assignments and four proctored tests. I'm half way through it if you want some more info...

GBrown, what are the format of the materials? Are their videotaped lectures for you to view?

No, I'm sorry - I missed the last part of your post about needing interaction. No videos, but the book (also used at LSU) comes with two interactive CD's. One of them has some video lessons. Overall, the text and CDs are more than adequate. I also get advice from folks at sosmath.com on the bulletin boards. Check it out.

What is about CLEP Calculus? I rather take the CLEP exam than taking independent course.

    Book Recommendation!

This book is invaluable for calculus 3:

"How to Ace the rest of Calculus: The Streetwise Guide including multivariable calculus" ISBN: 0-7167-4174-1

I'm sure you can find it at Barnes & Noble or Amazon. The price on the back of the book is $16.00 US.

Try DANTES Independent Study Catalog - Postsecondary Courses

DANTES lists some universities that offer DL calc III courses.

    http://www.dantescatalogs.com/DISC/SubjectAreaInfoDetail.asp?Report=PC&RecID=14

From this link, scroll down to "14.04.00 CALCULUS" and look for calculus III. The calc III listings are mixed in with the other calculus listings.
