how many online courses can you handle at once?

Hi guys,
Can you share your experiences on the amount of online courses a person with time can handle at once?
I'm thinking 2 or maybe 3 at once. Considering the fact that I do spend a lot of time , because I like to achieve high grades and am not pleased with just 'pass'.
What should I do?

I have found two DL graduate courses per semester is too much for me. I like a little more balance between work, family, and education so I limit myself to one course per semester.

Try two and see how it goes.

 

I forgot to mention I don't work, so are your advices that still valid? It really helps me knowing other peoples experiences in timing.

Assuming you are referring to graduate level courses, I would still recommend starting with two and see how it goes.

I took two courses per semester when I earned my masters degree. I also had a lenient work schedule at the time, but I found it to be very challenging. The subject matter you are studying will probably also make a difference as to how many courses you can take at once. All of the courses I took for my masters were in operations research and math.

 

I also took three courses at a time when completing my undergrad. However, I find that each of my graduate courses requires about twice the work of a typical undergrad course. So, taking two graduate courses would for me be like taking four undergrad classes! I found that three undergrad courses was my limit and likewise, one graduate course is my limit. YMMV of course.
