Does anyone know of a DL masters program in Economic History or Economics with a specialisation in History? Preferably I'll be looking for a program that was thesis not course and exam based, but am open to suggestions. Thanks
I've never heard of a master's in economics with a specialization in history. The study of economics in itself usually covers much of the history using Adam Smith as the usual starting point. Perhaps you would need to look in other areas such as anthropology or political science.
Master's degrees in economics generally come with specializations in economic history and/or history of economic thought. The University of New England www.une.edu.au offers a master's in economic history via dl. Also, it is useful to remember that, in the UK system, economic history is usually housed within the history department.
Thanks for that. I did my first degree in South Africa, where I obtained a BA majoring in Economics and Economic History. UND (now UKZN) had a seperate department of Economic History.
What about returning to South Africa for postgraduate work? Not interested? I understand that Wits in particular has a reknowned Economics department. -=Steve=-
