Does it have any connection with Irish International University? Please refer to the link http://www.iiuedu.ie/view.php?v=3,3

    Thanks for your reply Yan.

Apparently, the British Council in KL recognises the qualifications accredited by QAC, UK and when I contacted the London office they got mixed up with the QCA. So really I am not really sure of the authenticity of the whole thing.

    1) QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) is a public body in developing English national curriculum and providing a national framework of qualifications ( http://www.qca.org.uk ).

    2) QAC-UK Ltd (Quality Assurance Commission) - is a private company, no background information and details of officials in its website ( http://www.qac-uk.org ).

    3) Oxim is closely connected with Irish International University and is accredited by QAC-UK Ltd. As to Irish International University, you may search through degreeinfo.com website where plenty of discussions were made before.

    4) In Oxim's website, no history and blackground information about the association nor details of its key officials are provided.

    5) I have never heard of such UK association of management.

Thanks Yan. Looks like Oxim and QAC are private entities with names very close to more well known organisations or institutions which probably explains the confusion caused. Yet I wonder why they still exist and for what purpose.

Maybe These Will Answer Your Questions

    Dear sonata88

I found these posted on the internet. I believe they show that the Oxford Association of Management is recognized by the British Council in their annual British Qualifications Guide as a professional organization. Feel free to consul the guide as instructed if you would like or email the British Council directly.

    Message from British Council Malaysia

"May I, in addition to what my colleague explained, explain that the British Council has not accredited or offered official recognition of the Oxford Association of Management.

The letter which has been posted on their website just confirms that this institution is listed on the mentioned publication. This letter in no way serves as an official recommendation or accreditation of the institution. "

Re: Message from British Council Malaysia

There is no official UK accreditating agency for professional bodies. Recognition of a "professional body" is not its listed in particular publication. The most prestigious UK management association is Chartered Management Institute ( http://www.managers.org.uk ). The name with "Chartered" is the assurance of the quality, e.g. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. In fact, one must be careful of those "professional bodies" claiming their accrediting status from particular source.

A list of the UK professional bodies can be accessed at http://www.hero.ac.uk/uk/reference_and_subject_resources/groups_and_organisations/professional_bodies3790.cfm

OAM is related to European Business School (Cambridge) www.ebscambridge.ac and www.se.com.my

Interesting that they are branding after two prestigious institutions in the UK

www.oxim.org uses domains by proxy to hide its real location.

Any business using that sort of service rather than giving their business address is deserving of at least some suspicion
