    Hello all,

Since coming to this board in the summer of 05, I have finished up my BS from Excelsior and have completed 24 credit hours from Liberty's MBA.

Most of the information I've gained on this board was through just using the search function.

This site has led me to bain4weeks.com, which led me to Excelsior...then this site led me to liberty.edu.

So, with this being one of my first posts on this board, I have to ask: What now?

Frankly, it has been a little difficult finding employment within the corporate world. Ideally, I'd like to get into bank management or operations. I have no business experience. I realize I won't get a management position in a bank based soley on my MBA, so I need some experience.

I've searched and searched for management trainee positions, but they require at least some experience. So, does anyone have any ideas where I could look for say..internships or entry-level positions?

It is hard in this online environment because your school hosts career fairs on campus, and of course, you don't live on campus.

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

I don't really have the answer for you on the job front other than continuing to keep your eyes peeled and apply for every thing.

I am very curious about the Liberty MBA though. They are on my list of prospective schools.

    Are you happy with them?

Could you describe what a typical course is like?

    Mostly exams or papers?

Are the exams timed if they are online?

Come on, lay it all out for me...

You could check if any local universities have internships posted on their job boards. Or maybe contact your local chamber of commerce for leads?

WetFeet.com supposedly specializes in jobs for new graduates/MBAs.

Other than that, my recommendation would be to leave off the MBA from your resume if you are looking for entry level positions.

    Hi to another mbaonline

Matt, Not knowing any of your other experience, it's hard to say but I think you could get an entry level job at a bank based on a B.A. and part of an MBA. By entry level I mean a personal banker or a customer service rep, not a teller or secretary.

I work for a large bank (25 years in banking) and the good thing is that a lot of banks pay tuition for employees, even if the student wants to be a teacher or a doctor, something unrelated to banking.

Also, some banks are starting (or restarting) the old type of managment training that was industry standard 20 years ago but disappeared in the 1990s. So check that out too.

It's too bad your school doesn't have a career office. Do they have an alumni mentoring program or alumni association?

    Good luck!
