Jordan S. Rubin, author of the Makers Diet has two doctorates. I have never heard of the Peoples University of the Americas and the Academy of Natural Therapies. What do you know about these two insitutions?

    From www.makersdiet.com

Jordan Rubin earned the designation of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Peoples University of the Americas School of Natural Medicine, and most recently earned a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the Academy of Natural Therapies. He is also a Certified Nutritional Consultant and a member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants. He resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with his wife, Nicki.

From the web site of the Peoples University of the Americas: "PUA is commencing accreditation and licensing procedures. We will not be offering any courses until this process is successfully completed." Ergo, they're unaccredited.

Academy of Natural Therapies is even better. The first few hits on that from Google come up with pages with the word "defendant" in them. Not really a good sign.

Bottom line: the guy's credentials are phony as a wooden nickel.

Besides, if you want to use religious dietary laws as the basis for a healthy diet, you're better off with Buddhism or Rastafarianism. (Of course, I'm neither an expert in religion or nutrition, so take my advice with, um, a grain of salt.)
