    A new study suggests that attending an elite college is not the ticket to jobs with lots of prestige or high salaries. The study — by researchers at the Universities of Michigan and Wisconsin — examined 1,733 men who graduated from high schools in Wisconsin in 1957. Scholars collected extensive data on the men so that they could attempt to isolate the impact of attending an elite college.

    Yes and NO, the difference of being a new graduate with no work experience from Duke, Harvard, or Princeton and (insert name her) State U still exists, and always will. Couple work experience with an accredited degree, then you have a different story.

    Actually, I agree with you. My Oxford diploma - technically worthless as a teaching criteria in the US, got me in the door for my FT teaching gigs, the advanced degrees merely "checked the block".
