    Hello,

I want to start my dl MBA at either Leicester, Durham or Bradford this summer. After intensive study of this forum I now invite everybody also interested in these MBAs to discuss the pros and cons of these MBAs (With more than one tear in my eye I have decided last night to leave aside Warwick and Imperial => costs, exam dates).

I look forward to exchanging views with you! I'm based in Luebeck in Germany and have no problems with attending some subjects in a modular session (e.g. Bradford).

Good luck to all fellow applicants!

AFAIK, Durham enjoys a better reputation than the other two schools.

    Hello JLV,

thanks for your reply. (Just between the two of us: Durham is slightly my favorite at the moment... ;-) ). Do you know a bit more about the reputation-issue? Bradford seems to get slightly better rankings, and doesn't the "NIMBAS"-factor carry some weight for Bradford as well? :) Unfortunately I don't know a lot about how good Leicester is at all. They do indeed seem to be a very decent university in the UK.

    Few more options

    Hi there,

after giving it much thought and attending few open evenings i also got to the same conclusion that warwick and imperial are too "impractical" for me. Imperial seems to have exams once a year and also if for some reason u cant appear in the exams, wait till next year. Imperial also mention "external" on the MBA degree ,which isnt necessarily a good thing.

Warwick is just too long (3yrs regular and 3.5 yrs if u start in April). Cost wise all of these porgs are in pretty much the same range.

Leicester is the cheapest of the lot and the university is an "old" one but i didnt get a good feedback abt the quality of the prog by someone attending it. Also the university reputation isnt too bad in UK but it isnt good either.

As for Bradford and Durham, i would also say Durham is a better choice. You can also consider Manchester Business School worldwide, Aston University and Henley, which offers an MBA in germany with Universität der Bundeswehr (check www.hrk.de).

I personaly ve decided to go for Aston..

    good luck with ur decision

    Grüsse aus England

    same thoughts :)

    Hello wh431,

yup we DO feel very much the same way about Warwick and Imperial. ;) I was hoping for a little bit better news with Leicester, but oh well. It may just not be the "real thing". And contents of the MBA simply do matter and not just the price. ;)

I think Manchester is a bit expensive for me, wasn't it more than 23k Euro? As for Durham, they seem to be taking the lead in my decision, but I will give Aston a look as well.

    All the best to you!

20 hours / week for two modules

A short addition: I spoke to someone who is studying the Durham MBA distance learning at the moment. He is taking on two modules in his first semester and is very glad not to have taken on one more. He is investing 20 hours/week for these two modules. So definitely no "easy MBA" at Durham. ;) He seems to be enjoying his studies though.

If one was to study at Durham at this rate it doesn't really seem to be faster way to the MBA compared to even more prestigious Warwick, what do you think?

Anybody with some input on Bradford or Leicester?
