I understand it is possible to be accepted to the SATS M.Th without a theology background, but additional coursework (three courses) wll be involved.

I have checked out their website and maybe someone on the board here can tell me if the coursework for the undergraduate / graduate exams are proctored. If not, how exams are conducted at SATS?

Also, how long will these coursework take? Will it add another year to the MTh?

I PMed our august former Senior Member and theological distance learning expert the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Clifton over at another board and this is his reply:

    "Hi Theo,

If one has a weak theological background, one will have to write three mini-theses. One's supervisor can require a course or two at the undergraduate level. I don'y know how exams are given.

I am sure a theology undergrad is needed. At least some equivalent, like Bible, missions, etc.

This is about all I know. Janko or Grover will know more.

    Blessings,
    Jimmy"

Thank you Ted for contacting Jimmy. I appreciate it.

I will contact SATS. $3,000 for a M.Th is a great value. I hope their D.Mth gets approved soon.
