I'm curious: Has anyone heard of a Nationally-accredited school transitioning into a Regionally-accredited one?

American Military University / American Public University System is one.

APUS (American Public University and American Military University) is doing that right now, I think.

I'm not sure...but I think Northcentral University was at one time NA. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. They may have simply been unaccredited before becoming RA.

I think NCU was just unaccredited. They were not DETC.

I just spoke to a knowledgeable friend of mine and he informed me that WGU applied for DETC and RA at the same time. APUS will be the first DETC school to transition to RA.

There was some DETC school that merged in with Kaplan University, so they are technically both NA and RA at least until 2007, when their DETC accreditation comes up for renewal.
