    Hi Folks:

Just wanted to give a little info back to the board regarding an excellent DL program from the University of Calgary. The U of C is one of Canada's premier institutions of learning and they have created the very first Canadian DL degree in Education.

Their website is www.ucalgary.ca if you would like to visit. They do have a required summer institute but that is it. This could be a great opportunity for American citizens, finally and educationally, given the strength of the University and the US greenback.

    Cheers!

    Ian

The greenback may be strong, but not that strong. The exchange rate still makes that program cost 10,000 USD for Americans. Considering that it's a four year program, that's not a cost savings, especially relative to that delightfully inexpensive online EdD through the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Those interested in saving money by studying internationally at a distance can't do better for cost than the University of South Africa or another of the South African universities. Their Doctor of Education program is 1,500 USD per year for foreigners (even less if you're South African or in another African country). And with UNISA there's no summer anything; you never have to go there if you don't want to.

Note: I looked at Calgary's program maybe two months ago, and this response is based on my recollections from then.
