There is also a link www.sonador.com/umuc_petition I think this is probably unusual for instructors to be paid so poorly by a college (given what people pay in tuition) but it does explain why UMUC instructors are instructing in 3-4-5 different fields. The more courses they can instruct (even if they have to learn the subject by teaching it) the more money they can earn to survive, particularly in Europe where the dollar-euro exchange rate hasn't been to good for Americans. At least they've got a senes of humor about it. I wonder how many instructors did not sign the petition, and what the consequences (if any) there were for those who did?
