    Hi everyone,

I figured I'd post an update about what I have left to complete my BS Liberal Arts from Excelsior and the new focus I want my education to take.

The tests I have left include:
    DANTES Anthropology- taking next week
DANTES Human/Cultural Geography- taking next week
    ECE Abnormal Psychology- UL
    TECEP Alcohol Abuse- UL
    TECEP Sustance Abuse- UL
    TECEP Advertising- UL
    TECEP Word Processing-LL

Courses toward a focus in Creative Writing:

    Creative Writing-Poetry- University of Wisconsin
Creative Writing- The Short Story University of Wisconsin
Poetry Writing II University of So Miss
Fiction Writing II- University of So Miss
Poetry Writing III- University of So Miss
Creative Non-Fiction Workshop- University of ?

Then, I will move on to a MFA in Creative Writing from Goucher College (30 minutes away from my home) (www.goucher.edu) or National University in California (www.nu.edu). My ultimate goals are to become well-written, publish several books, and teach at the community college level. I have recently become so washed out in my current job, that I cannot imagine continuing like this for the rest of my life. It is time to leave the old behind and start a career that has new meaning, soul and that will possibly make an impact on the future and leave my mark on the earth. I'll keep you all updated.

Of the two, I say go local with Goucher. It will be better for networking, which will be important if you're going to find a teaching position in English.

Looking ahead, there's a trend of community college administrators retiring that may work well for you as a twentysomething. In fact, if you're interested in a long term career at the community college level, once you're done with your Master's, you may want to consider George Mason University's unique Doctor of Arts in Community College Education program. I know Fairfax isn't exactly next to Pennsylvania, but if you scheduled things to come down once a week maybe it wouldn't be too big an inconvenience?

Wow, that's quite a circuitous route, if I recall you thought about HR, finance, MBA programs. But good for you, I'm glad you're deciding to do something you want to do rather than what you think you ought to do.

    Good luck.
