Opinions on BS or MS

Here's my dilema. I am enrolled in Excelsior's BST program (Bachelor of Science in Technology) because it is the program that would give me the quickest BS, about 8 months to 1 year. The problem is I have always wanted a BSCS (Computer Science) and found a program that I could complete in 2 years.

Would I be better off getting the fast BS and getting into a Master's program or would the technical base of a BSCS be more beneficial?

An MSCS without the BSCS base would probably prove to be very difficult indeed.

I have about 11 years of work experience in the Air Force if that factors into the equation at all.

I know this is IT based, but I wanted the opinions of everyone, IT and Non-IT alike.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

I would say just finish the program you are in, and then move on to a master's.

The main question is whether or not you feel you will be ready to do graduate-level work in computer science after earning your BST from Excelsior. If the combination of your work experience and education give you the background you feel is necessary for success, then finish your BST and start applying to masters programs. If you feel you won't be ready, then you need to take the steps necessary to get ready, whether that be earning a BS in CS somewhere else, or some form of independent study. Good Luck!

No, I really don't think I'd be ready for an MSCS, but I wonder if a MS CIS or similar with work experience would be more valuable than just the BSCS.
