I noticed this ad at NCU's website about teaching ESL in Viet Nam. I was wondering if anyone else had considered it? I’ve been in Asia for 10 years teaching ESL and it sounds like something I may be interested in. Any comments?

(I did a Google search for Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (HUI) and didn’t come up with much. There is a Ho Chi Min City University of TECHNOLOGY.)

This is an excellent opportunity for American educated persons to teach and experience the dynamic vitality and culture of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. Teachers will work with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (HUI) either teaching English or teaching academic subjects leading to the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) or MBA degree, depending on qualifications and interest. The partnership program between HUI and Northcentral University (NCU) offers the BBA and MBA programs in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, you will not be NCU faculty but will be working directly with HUI. Take a year off from your normal routine to work in and experience the new Vietnam.

    Requirements for Candidates:
    • Candidates must be willing to be in Vietnam for the program duration (at least 11 months) and agree to this commitment.

    • We will provide one R/T air ticket from the US to Vietnam per year and a one-month vacation per year.

If I was'nt married, no baby otw, and single. I'd go for it. You could live very well in HCM city with a $40,000 salary.Especially if housing and transportation is paid for by NCU. However, their maximum is $30,000. I believe salary will be paid in the range of $15,000-$20,000.
