As an aid the school shopping process, it would be nice if we had an area on the site to which we could post course syllabi.

Good. And how about posting your personal course syllabi as a start.

Roman, I'll be happy to do this once we have a structured system in place. Just randomly posting syllabi to a thread like this wouldn't be as useful as it could be.

I recommend we post using a pro forma Subject line:

    Syllabus: <course title>, <school>, <course number>, <degree program>

It would be most effective if there were a forum established just for this purpose.

This is a great idea, but better ask your instructors first. I'd be flattered if students wanted to post my syllabuses for my on-land statistics courses, but the syllabuses for my on-line communications courses are proprietary information, and I doubt my school would give permission.

Courses come and go, and so do instructors. It would need to be constantly updated. Besides, many schools already do this on departmental webpages. Also you can go to something like http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/index.jsp and look up course/instructor evaluations.
