    Hello,

I'm interested in earning an AA degree via distance learning. I just want a "general" concentration. (I may be interested in going through the BS/BA degree...but I'm just looking at the AA for the moment.) I'm wanting to take most of my classes without CLEPing or DANTEs. (Simply because I've been there, done that, didn't work for me...:p )

Basically, I'm looking for a low cost school that will accept Federal Student Aid. Regional accredidation would be necessary. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! I continue to read the forums and learn new things everyday.

    Thank you!

(Also, are there any schools that allow you to use your grant/loan money to pay for text books? )

Coastline Community College in California. It is B&M RA school with many DL AA degree programs.

Not very costly and they do lots of great work with the military as well. It's a great place to learn.

There are many others too! The "BIG THREE" for example. But I do believe this school is a bit cheaper..

    Good Luck!

American Public University System (APUS) offers an Associate of Arts degree with and without a specific concentration. For undergraduate degrees the tuition includes the course and the textbook(s). The tuition is USD250.00 per semester credit hour. The school is a candidate for regional accreditation and the accrediting group has recently completed their scheduled site visit.

In theory, taking one course every two months you can earn an AA in about 3 years.

APUS qualifies for military TA so that might mean federal (US) student loans are also available.

Were you ever in the military? If you were, University of Phoenix offers an AA through Credit Recognition.

    Thanks for all the responses!

No, I have never been in the military.

I've started looking through several of these sites. I appreciate the suggestions!
